Eat the Best, Eat Homemade at AJ’s Burgers

AJ’s is about the food-- real food, real people and real love!

AJ's is a collaboration of America's Favorite Foods served seven days a week-- lunch, dinner; take out, delivery and catering. AJ makes everything in house using fresh ingredients and an orchestra of recipes. The only canned ingredients are ketchup, extra virgin olive oil, mustard, tomatoes, condensed milk, evaporated milk, hot fudge and on occasion beans. To be absolutely honest we admittedly uses a brownie mix and add more chocolate chips to make the world’s most killer brownies!

AJ was put to the challenge…

Mariano Rivera comes in with his brother, Joe, and pushed the menu away and ask for the best seafood dish we can make…Thanks to AJ’s love of food and training he prepared a lobster and shrimp positano-- A taste infinity of lobster tail, shrimp, arugula, butter and fresh tomatoes over linguine-- taught to him by the Saporitos. Come in and try it!

Chuck Zito another celebrity guests, comes in for sliders, fries, pizzas, hotdogs, clams oreganata and sugar rolls.

More than just burgers…

While Italian food is not the focus at AJ's, AJ has incorporated some of his key dishes including delicious thin crust pizza, eggplant and chicken parmigiana made with his classic homemade marinara sauce. Trying the pizza is a must; we offer a twelve inch, thin crust pie following a recipe that's been passed down through generations. The pizza is mouthwatering with just the right amount of garlic and the choices are extensive. The family favorite is the Buffalo Chicken Pizza topped with crispy fried onion strings and served with a side of our homemade creamy gorgonzola dressing.

Our famous burgers...

The burgers and sliders are served on Martin's potato rolls. Made with quality beef a proprietary blend from a local manufacturer who distributes daily, it is always made in small batches and tested before it goes out. The burgers are formed by hand and char-grilled to your desired doneness. All the toppings are cut fresh daily complimenting the freshness of our all American burgers. The Chef’s selection of Artisan Specialties include the Hudson Regional Winner for the best burger featuring our Club Burger and Habanero Burger juicy, rich, and deliciousness on homemade garlic artisan bread—two years in a row—2012 & 2013.

You would be missing out if you forget to eat some sliders. The sliders are made with the same technique as the White Manna in Hackensack NJ, which was moved from the World’s Fair of 1964 in Queens. AJ's sliders are made from quality beef cooked on a flat grill with grilled onions, fresh pickle chips and ketchup, it leaves you craving more.

In addition, the chicken cutlet sandwiches are hand trimmed, brined, thinly sliced and char- grilled. Like our burgers you may choose with or without cheese and either with the 'works' which includes freshly cut lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle, or you can opt for grilled onions. Adding bacon or homemade chili is a great way to make a good chicken sandwich even better.

AJ's chili is a secret blend of spices including dry guajilo peppers. In the mood for something new? The chipotle sauce is another flavor you must try. It is a delicious way to add some spice to your sandwich. It's a mayonnaise based sauce that adds the perfect amount of kick to any burger or sandwich.

AJ's homemade side dishes include Wedge Inn favorites-- cole slaw, spicy pickle salad, broccoli rabe, etc.

Our fresh cut fries are made from only the best GPOD potatoes and they are always fresh! They are fried twice producing the crispiest, most delicious fries-topped with our blend of salt and spices.

If you're in the mood for something lighter we have great salad and soups. Naturally the soups are made from scratch. The chicken soup (when available) is from AJ’s great grandmother's recipe combined with Escoffier techniques. The shrimp bisque is made from farm raised shrimp; rich cream and pepper--to give it a kick. The soup of the day is made with love and quality ingredients. Some household favorites include split pea, cream of tomato, lentil, cream of broccoli, straccatelli, cream of mushroom, cabbage soup, cream of celery, minestrone, and corn chowder.

Desserts in a jar…

Make your meal complete with a taste of one of the irresistible desserts combining family and Italian recipes to create signature bites of decadence. The cannoli a handed down Old Italian recipe are made to order (leaving a crunchy canola shell with a creamy filling). A warm gooey brownie with some of Gifford’s World’s Best Ice Cream is something every ice cream lover should taste. Brownie cannoli in a jar is layers of homemade brownies and cannoli cream with rich chocolate chips. Our rotation of desserts in a jar include; cheesecake, apple cobbler, rice pudding (from the Thru-Way Diner Days) and strawberry shortcake with homemade buttermilk biscuits.

AJ’s menu also include clam dishes, fresh salmon, ribs, steaks, ½ chicken, pasta and several vegetarian and healthy options.
